- Conduct financial modelling and market analysis of global commodity markets, including supply/demand dynamics, pricing trends, and input cost drivers.
- Develop predictive models to forecast future market trends and input costs to mitigate inflation, identify efficiency opportunities, and manage risk.
- Gather and analyse data from multiple sources (government reports, industry publications, financial statements) and produce clear, actionable reports for stakeholders across Whitbread.
- Support F&B Procurement Managers in managing supplier rebates and income collection, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Collaborate with Procurement Finance and Commercial Finance teams to deliver accurate and regular F&B performance reporting, including inflation analysis.
- Partner with Responsible Sourcing and Investor Relations teams to provide data and reporting for Whitbread’s annual reports, website content, and sustainability commitments.
- Financial analysis experience
- Familiarity with trading platforms, financial analysis software, and data management tools
- Highly conversant with the specific commodities for F&B sourcing, including their production processes, pricing structures, and supply chain dynamics and their impact on product pricing and availability
- Project and change management
- Finance – conversant with business financial accounting and able to analyse and report data effectively to key financial stakeholders
- Highly skilled in using data analysis tools and developing financial models.
- Gather and analyse data from various sources, including government reports, industry publications, and financial statements, using statistical models and data visualisation techniques.
- Horizon scanning - Develop and utilise forecasting models to predict future market trends and price movements.
- Strong IT skills relating to Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office programs.
- 2-3 years relevant financial commodity experience
- Educated to degree level, ideally in economics, finance, mathematics, or a related field
- Highly credible in front of senior stakeholders and the management of key suppliers
- Understanding of Food & Drink and associated procurement best practice
- Conversant with a range of associated sourcing strategies
