Our in-house Pension Team plays a vital role in supporting our workforce, ensuring our pension schemes are well-managed, compliant, and meet the needs of our people. Working closely with People, Finance, the pension scheme trustee and external partners, they help guide employees through their retirement planning journey with clarity and confidence.
We’re now looking for a Pensions Specialist to join this dynamic team. In this hands-on and varied role, you’ll support the Head of Pensions Delivery in providing high-quality executive support to the Trustee Board, inputting into papers and managing Trustee meeting actions. You’ll also own the annual communications plan and be the first point of contact for pension scheme members as well as providing analytical support. Role: Pensions Specialist
Contract Type: Full-Time and Permanent
Salary: Up to £45,000pa (for the right experience)
Location: Whitbread Court, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire and hybrid working with coming to the office a minimum of 3 days a week

What you’ll be doing:
- Work with the Head of Pensions Delivery to provide executive support to the Trustee Board and Benefits Sub-Committee, including drafting agendas and minutes as well as inputting into internal, & co-ordinating external, papers
- Lead the delivery of the annual pensions communications plan and contribute to member communications
- Manage the pensions mailbox and respond to member queries with clarity and care
- Act as the first point of contact for the third-party administrator, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution
- Provide analytical support
- Deliver pensions subject matter expertise
What you’ll need:
- Strong understanding of how pension schemes operate and the legislation that governs them
- Awareness of data protection and its importance in managing sensitive member information
- Familiarity with project management principles and how they support effective delivery
- Knowledge of pension scheme administration and governance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels and with external partners
- A proactive self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently
