Our apprenticeships

Many organisations offer apprenticeships, but we really believe in them. Done properly, they can set people up for life. And, if our apprentices are happy and energised, they’ll do a great job for our customers. Makes sense doesn’t it? Which is why we’re proud to offer apprenticeships for every hourly paid role in our business.

So – assuming your family member works over 30 hours a week – they can choose to enrol, get paid and pick up nationally-recognised qualifications along the way. Here’s what we offer.

The path to follow if your family member wants to learn about all things hospitality. Through structured workshops and on-the-job training, they’ll develop the core skills that everyone in hospitality needs, gain that nationally-recognised qualification and enjoy faster progress through our business.

We’ll take your family member’s raw talent and help mould them into a Grill Chef. On-the-job training and workshops will teach them everything you need to know about succeeding in a professional kitchen environment, while the qualifications are all part of taking them to the next step in their career with us.

If your family member is thinking about management, this is the apprenticeship for them. Continuous on-the-job training and workshops will develop those people skills and teach them how to supervise and lead in the hospitality business. Complete the apprenticeship and they’ll be able to apply for one of our Hospitality Manager Apprenticeships.

Do they want to run the kitchen? One day your family member will if they follow this apprenticeship. It’s the pathway for all budding Head Chefs, taking those skills they have up a notch through training and workshops. Learning from the chefs who know what it takes to delight customers, this is a real chance for them to establish themselves within one of our popular brands.

How we do things

Shift working

Everyone has other things they want to do in life outside of work, which is why we like shift work. Naturally, we can’t just pick and choose when we work, but it does give us a degree of freedom that lets us commit to those other commitments we all have.

Your hours

From day one, your family member can expect to work and train at least 30 hours a week. Giving them the best possible blend of on and off the job learning. As they progress those hours are likely to go up.

Your work environment

You’ll see and hear us talk about family quite a lot. But that’s what we strive for and that’s what it feels like. Working (hard) alongside people that genuinely care for each other, have a laugh with each other and almost certainly become good friends with one another. There’s no real secret to it. We just make sure we hire good people who enjoy working towards the same goals.

Levels of responsibility

This’ll depend on your family member, their aspirations and their progress. We’ll push them to take on more responsibility, but at the same time, our trainers will ensure they never feel overwhelmed. Simply put, we work together, and the opportunity for them to progress and impress is always there.
