Turn Insight into Action and Data into Revenue
Are you a commercially minded analyst who thrives on turning data into decisions?
At Premier Inn, we’re looking for a sharp, inquisitive Commercial Analyst (known as Trading Analyst internally) to join our Commercial Revenue Management team. This is a high-impact role where your insights will directly shape pricing, trading tactics and revenue performance across one of the UK’s most recognisable hospitality brands.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be the analytical engine behind our trading performance — delivering a regular weekly drumbeat of insight into how we’re performing across occupancy, room rates and revenue per available room. You’ll also play a key role in our annual trading cycle, helping us understand whether we’re selling too fast, too slow, or just right.
Your work will directly support our Revenue Management, Pricing and Commercial teams, helping them make smarter, faster decisions. You’ll also evaluate the impact of commercial initiatives — from reservation channel optimisation to room feature performance — and help us understand what’s really driving revenue.
Your key responsibilities:
- Analyse weekly trading performance across our UK estate — occupancy, ADR, RevPAR — and communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Support the annual trading cycle by identifying sales pacing trends and recommending adjustments to maximise revenue.
- Evaluate the impact of commercial initiatives — e.g. reservation channel mix, room features, or promotional campaigns.
- Work closely with the Senior Commercial Analytics Manager, Pricing & Events Team, and Commercial Leads to optimise trading tactics.
- Use tools like SQL, Power BI and Data Bricks to deliver clear, actionable insights.
- Help shape and evolve our KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for someone who’s not just technically skilled, but commercially curious — someone who can connect the dots between data and business outcomes.
You’ll need:
- Proven experience in a commercial analytics role where your insights have driven performance.
- Strong analytical skills (ideally SQL) for data manipulation and analysis.
- Proficiency with data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau (or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to distil complex data into clear insights.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset — always looking for trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Experience in hospitality, airlines, rail, leisure travel, retail or other adjacent industries is highly desirable.
- Understanding of dynamic pricing and perishable inventory management is a plus.
What you’ll get:
- Private healthcare
- Up to 15% bonus
- Up to 10% matched pension
- Up to 60% discount on Premier Inn stays + 25% off our restaurant brands
- A workplace recognised as a Top Employer for 14 years running
We’re Whitbread – the UK’s leading hospitality business.
