As the dynamic Estate Development Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the operational execution and successful delivery of our exciting PI&R new openings and acquisitions pipeline. Your expertise in end-to-end project management will ensure effective, consistent, and efficient project implementation, contributing significantly to the expansion and enhancement of our property portfolio. Reports to: Programme Manager – Estate Development  

Grade: B16 - Permanent 

Location: Field-Based – National

What you’ll do:

  • Lead project management for all new openings / projects
  • Facilitate meetings, and act as the key point of contact, with the Regional Operational /Hotel Managers and the senior team at each site to confirm timelines, recruitment, opening process, budgets, Sales, PR and Marketing
  • Ensure that the site is ready to / signed off to trade with Licensing /Police/ Fire Officers and all statutory bodies
  • Communicate project progress & update other key functions of WHR prior, during & after the development period
  • Support and share ownership of the site & teams during the project lifespan
  • In conjunction with the EDT Programme Manager liaise with Finance to ensure PARs, budgets, pre-opening trackers etc are accurate and up to date
  • Make recommendations for improvements and implement for future projects
  • Manage the recruitment process in conjunction with the Operations team and agree timelines with HR & commercial team for each site
  • Ensure positive and effective communication streams regarding New Openings and projects are achieved with all support stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with all latest initiatives, support and ensure implementation to all areas of the business
  • Ensure that all new opening materials are always fully up to date and fit for purpose
  • Work closely with the management teams to ensure their business is well maintained in line with the company health and safety policies
  • Coach site management
  • Influence and communicate effectively with all statutory bodies, contractors and third parties

What you’ll need:

  • Understanding of Premier Inn operational and brand standards and familiarity with Hotel functions including F&B, reception and housekeeping as well as Premier Inn business systems
  • You will have strong People Skills – embracing the Whitbread Values and the essence of the Whitbread Leadership Framework
  • You’ll have a genuine rapport with people and can build trust and win support at all levels of the business both internally and externally
  • As well as being self-motivated, you will be enthusiastic and someone who always looks to bring positive energy to your team
  • Someone who is driven and focused on results will be successful in this role, as well as needing excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
  • You’ll be experienced of getting results via an output that benefits all stakeholders
  • Proven leadership ability – you'll be able to show you have successfully managed, coached and developed others
