Role: Part time Accounting Analyst

Location: Dunstable- we have a fantastic hybrid working environment, you’ll need to be in the office at least 2 days per week but the rest of your week can be flexible to what works best for you and your role.

The Financial Accounting and Control (A&C) team is a critical element of the overall Financial Control team, providing accurate accounts, processing journal transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, delivering financial reporting and acting as a business partner to key areas of the organisation.
What you will be doing:
- Production and control of Period close P&L pack in line with close timetable.
- A well-controlled and managed close process including managing the Consolidated Task List and Action Log
- Tracking of Intercompany and Adjusting Items balances
- Robust Balance Sheet review process with clear commentary and driving the BS review meeting agenda
- Weekly accurate cashflow forecasting across the group
- Engagement with Treasury, with timely explanations for any variances and a continuous improvement culture
- Engagement with key finance partners to build understanding of cash impact of standard business processes
- Ensure internal controls are maintained in line with FCF
- Comply with all internal/external audit requirements
- Provide regulatory information on a timely basis
- Manage the Whitbread BS reconciliation process to ensure compliance with policy
- Drive the annual review process to ensure all process notes are updated at least once a year
- Support the wider team to ensure any new processes are documented u
- Support the process to ensure WINcard targets and KPIs are approved by ExCo for the start of the new Financial Year
- Coordinate the monthly reporting of WINcard results for all levels of the organisation
- Manage the WINcard challenge process to provide final bonus resulting the standard template
- Review A&C processes to bring alignment between UK and Germany
Why we’d love you to apply:
- University degree
- Studying towards CIMA/ACCA/equivalent accounting qualification
- 1-2yrs experience in a FTSE 100 or equivalent organisation
- Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
- Attention to detail, structured/organised approach
- Excellent communication skills with both finance and non-finance people
- Pro-active; problem solving and analytical skills to identify root cause issues
