As Operations Finance Manager, you will support to the PI&R Operations team acting as Business Partner to Operations Directors and their teams across c.500 sites. You will work very closely with other Business Partners in equivalent roles with collective responsibility for Business Partnership to full Whitbread Premier Inn & Restaurants.
Inside the Role
- Part of leadership team of 3 Operating Divisions of c.180 sites / division
- Core support to ODs on performance management of each division
- Challenge and thought leadership on underlying drivers of region and site level performance including clear actions and measurement on the success of delivery
- Support and insight on specific OD initiatives, such as driving equitable delivery, understanding outliers (both ahead and behind target)
- Operations Board, Divisional, Regional and site level performance reporting
- Shared ownership with other Business Partners of key PI&R Ops Finance initiatives such as Annual & Quarterly budgeting, Ops Bonus challenge process, WinCard measures and target setting, and Reporting development and automation
- Supporting the site level P&L budgeting across estate
- Ad hoc project work (tactical and strategic) to support wider Ops Finance team on entire estate as applicable
- Tracking, analysis and insight on specific cost efficiency initiatives across the PI estate
- Lead the monthly Business review process with the Operation Directors with a clear review cycle and governance across Regional Operations Managers
- Deliver effective training across the operations team to improve financial understanding
- Working with the Head of PI&R Ops Finance to develop the business partnering vision, framework, and ways of working
We're open to you
- Qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) – Minimum 3 years PQE
- Strong understanding of financial planning and management techniques
- Commercial Acumen – understanding of operational business drivers and ability to identify trends to inform future strategy
- Interpersonal skills – excellent ability to communicate with non-financial colleagues at all levels
- Strong level of thought leadership to develop the business partnering strategy and identify commercial opportunities
- Analytical skills – ability to identify core issues and provide assessments grounded incompelling logic
- Use of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
