Role: PI Finance Manager Accounting- UK & Germany

Function: Finance

Location: Dunstable, Bedfordshire (Hybrid working)

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract (15 months)

The Finance Manager PI&R is a key member of the accounting and control team which ensures the accurate and efficient accounting, for Premier Inn & Restaurants and leads the across country financial processes for UK & Germany.

Inside the Role

  • To lead the identification, alignment and delivery of consistent accounting processes across UK & Germany.
  • To champion the change for consistency and efficiency in accounting processes.
  • To lead the month-end close process and reporting cycle for the aligned processes by engaging and partnering with the wider finance teams to deliver an insightful close process.
  • As the senior direct report to the Financial controller, the role will support the delivery of the wider Premier Inn and Restaurant accounting and be the key lead in making the necessary accounting judgements through the accounting cycle.
  • Financial accounting – providing high quality end to end accounting for Premier Inn UK & Germany’s aligned processes.
  • Relationship management with external auditors and to ensure full compliance with best practice to ensure smooth audit of PI&R UK
  • Cash flow management and inputs to cashflow forecasting across PI&R UK
  • Ownership of a range of balance sheet accounts and understanding and feeding into the risks and opportunities process. Best practice reconciliations and review with the development of leading balance sheet KPI’s
  • A key control owner that leads by example and delivers best in class financial controls in line with the Financial Control Framework
  • System utilisation and control, to maximise the effectiveness of Oracle Fusion
  • Go to subject matter expert for the wider accounting teams
  • Develop, support and coach four direct report financial analysts
  • To deputise as necessary for the Financial Controller
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude that champions the continuous improvement mentality needed in this role.

We’re open to you

  • Qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • ERP Financial Systems
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS,UK GAAP.
  • Leadership, planning and understanding of complex processes
  • Financial processes and process improvement
  • Control frameworks and risk
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, including influencing at all levels within the business
  • Proven ability to work as a lead and subject matter expert as part of a cross functional team
