Whitbread PLC is looking for a Senior Internal Communications Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and is passionate about storytelling, strategy and stakeholder engagement.
Whitbread PLC is one of the UK’s leading hospitality companies, owning some of the nation’s most-loved brands. Its portfolio includes Premier Inn, Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, and Cookhouse & Pub. The company operates over 900 hotels across the UK and Germany and runs hundreds of restaurants nationwide. As a FTSE100-listed business, Whitbread combines scale, quality, and purpose to deliver exceptional experiences for guests and team members alike.
Why this role matters
At Whitbread, we believe the best guest experiences start with the best team experiences. Internal Communications is at the heart of that belief. In this role, you’ll be part of the strategic force behind our corporate internal messaging-translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives that inspire pride, performance, and purpose across our business.
You’ll work directly with senior stakeholders, including our Executive Committee, to deliver communications that drive engagement, support transformation, and bring our strategy to life. From launching our refreshed Corporate Internal Comms Strategy to leading communications around financial milestones and change programmes, your impact will be felt across every corner of the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead strategic communications around business performance, financial updates, transformation, and cultural change.
- Develop and embed a unified messaging framework and internal comms playbook.
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver leader-led messaging and live events.
- Own and optimise our internal channels including SharePoint and intranet.
- Deliver high-impact virtual events around half-year and full-year results, trading updates, and more.
- Provide ‘always on’ comms support as part of our operational resilience model.
What we’re looking for
- A forward thinker with a strong work ethic, agility and flexibility.
- Proven experience in large corporate PLCs, ideally FTSE250, with an understanding of governance and compliance.
- A natural storyteller who can distil complex information into engaging, digestible messages.
- Someone who has led through change or transformation and understands the pace and nuance of internal comms in dynamic environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to provide counsel, support and influence at Executive level.
- Ideally experience of using MS365, SharePoint, Viva, and Teams.
What’s in it for you?
- A chance to help shape and embed corporate internal communications at Whitbread.
- Work alongside passionate professionals in a high-performing, values-led culture.
- Be part of a business that’s transforming and growing, with real opportunity to make your mark.
