Packing Specialist – Costa Roastery – S10 – Permanent – Basildon, Essex


Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Packing Specialist will be responsible for observing machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products are to standards, maintaining all packing line to continuously improve machine reliability and availability to manufacturing standards and working closely with Engineering team to ensure all activities are in line with agreed SLA’s to be able to maximize Overall Equipment Efficiency.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor machines efficiency
  • Operate machinery through the control and management of the automated equipment
  • Replacement of stock
  • Meet Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Fire Marshal
  • First Aider
  • Coaching
  • New Product Development


Who we are looking for

You’re passionate and energetic and put the customer at the heart of all you do, with a strong work ethic who relishes a challenge. You connect with people at all levels and have high standards when it comes to communication. You have a positive outlook, are self-driven and have impeccable attention to detailnh.  Basic computer skills are essential with an understanding of Word, Excel and Email along with excellent spoken and written communication skills.  You will bring with you experience of a production environment or food preparation environment. 

  • Worked in a production or food preparation environment.
  • Previous mechanical maintenance experience, ideally 2 years experience
  • Good knowledge of the packing machine principal of operation
  • Previous experience of shop floor presence and taking responsibility for training across departments
  • Equipment preventive maintenance
  • Basic Electrical & Mechanical knowledge
  • Problem solving and fault diagnosis techniques
